Guests from around the world visit the Lodge for its distinctly beautiful and dramatic vistas of Lake Wakatipu. The pure waters of Lake Wakatipu are fed by pristine rivers and quiet streams while sheltered bays and coves line the 140 kilometres of shoreline. Amid towering mountain peaks and edged by native New Zealand bush and high country pasture, the lake environs provide a natural haven for an abundance of trout, bird and wildlife. Private walkways from the Lodge lead directly to the lakeshore and provide easy access to a scenic walking track.
Relax and enjoy the lodge surroundings in the Formal Lounge, Summer Room, Atrium or Dining Room. All of these rooms have open fires for your comfort. You'll also find a fully stocked Wine Cellar and a comprehensive Library. Outside, take in the panoramic views of Lake Wakatipu and the surrounding mountains from the Viewing Deck. Or relax in the Spa Pavilion with cedar hot tub. You can also try out the sauna and exercise room. Also available are a barbecue area, golf driving net, petanque and croquet lawn.
The lodge is finished throughout in fine native Beech timber and pure wool carpets and display local art works for an unmistakably natural New Zealand appeal. The 4 Villas and 3 Suites feature a combination of spacious lounges with comfortable sofas and chairs, king size beds, fireplaces and extra large bathrooms which are luxuriously fitted with two person baths, tiled under-floor heating, and shuttered windows.
Each Villa and Suite has its own private garden terrace that looks out to mountain and lake views, and each is complete with every modern convenience, including; television with teletext, double phone lines, CD player, hair dryer, electric blankets, bar, fridge, and tea and coffee making facilities.
Also taking in the panoramic views are the extra large bathrooms featuring twin vanities, double showers, heated towel rails and extra large spa baths. King-size twin set beds are furnished with the finest quality linen and feather and down pillows. Under floor heating and reverse cycle air conditioning ensure total comfort for all seasons.
The three Suites are within the main Lodge building with an additional studio suite to accommodate nanny or staff. This 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom suite includes an additional separate toilet, 2 terraces and an extra large lounge with uninterrupted views from the Remarkables Mountain Range to Walter Peak. The main bedroom ensuite includes double shower, twin vanities and two-person spa bath.
This upstairs suite features a separate lounge, ceiling-high picture windows and views from Cecil to Walter Peak. The spacious private terrace opens on to landscaped native bush gardens and croquet lawn. The large bedroom overlooks the terrace with a separate bathroom, shower and deep two-person bath.
Adjoining Studio Suite
Adjoins Suite 2 and has its own separate entrance, ideal for accompanying nanny or staff. The Lounge/Bedroom with ensuite has views over the landscaped gardens. Queen-sized twin set bed plus 2 additional single lofted beds.
This ground floor suite with Eastern and Western courtyards catches the first and last of the day's sun. Has a separate lounge and bathroom with extensive views of Cecil Peak.
A short walk through native bush from the main lodge, the 700 square foot Villas offer the ultimate in space and privacy. A separate lounge with open log fire, large window seat and private outdoor terrace enjoy 180 degree panoramic views of the lake and mountains.

* Spring (September - November) is a wonderful time to hike or picnic in the mountains, enjoying the wild flowers. The lake is at its most pristine, glacial blue and you can't go far without seeing a newborn lamb or fawn. Temperatures range from the low to mid teens °C (50-60°F).
* In Summer (December - February), long summer evenings with the sun setting at around 10pm provide the perfect opportunity for a leisurely stroll after dinner or casting a line into the deep blue lake. Temperatures average in the high 20's°C (80's°F) with zero humidity.
* The balmy days of Autumn (March - May) see the first of the grapes harvested. Take a horse drawn carriage ride around the lake's edge and enjoy the golden tones of this picturesque time of year. Temperatures average in the 20's°C (68-70°F).
* The deep blue skies and clear crisp air of winter (June - August) provide the backdrop for a skiing holiday to remember. Spend evenings beside a crackling fire recounting the day's discoveries. Temperatures range between 5-10°C (40-50°F) in town, while they drop when you hit the fresh dry powder.
