About the estate
A tropical estate, perched high on a cliffside above Nyang Nyang beach, Uluwatu that is a perfect frame for the most spectacular view. Open air architecture and interiors that pay homage to modern aesthetics, luxury and comfort. The emphasis is bringing the outdoor indoors.
The eight suites are individual in character, spacious, comfortable and luxurious, at the same time retaining a strong sense of Bali inside and out, Each has a choice of indoor and outdoor bathing with our signature handcrafted baths set in private enclaves of immaculately groomed gardens, perfectly evoking that tropical mood. Each of our eight luxurious suites are utterly unique, yet all are set in the intimacy of their foliage-fringed gardens and private courtyards.
The Eight Suites
The first suite
The jewel in the crown and the owners’ choice, it is the most spacious of all suites, nestled in its own tranquil private surroundings. Eclectic artefacts are purposefully displayed, as are Balinese textiles which showcase the island’s powerful symbols. Feel immersed in nature, yet dial the butler at your fingertips.
On the upper terrace amidst the Japanese style garden, the Tosari suite is almost an apartment in itself. Carp-filled ponds that wrap around, combined with lush plants and creepers along the walled garden, bring an oasis of calm.
A Japanese aesthetic pervades throughout this suite and its outdoor bathroom, fittingly reflecting its setting in the Japanese sculpture garden on the upper terrace.
This is the architects’ favourite where they find solace in the light filled space that opens onto a frangipani scented courtyard. An enchanting mix of linen textiles and naturally weathered teak frame the suite, but it is the hand crafted stone bath sprinkled with scented flowers that is the draw for pure indulgence.
On the left wing of the main pavilion towards the pool, this suite takes its name from Nyang Nyang beach which lies directly below the Estate and remains one of the best kept secrets among surfers. It boasts one of the best vantage points and one of the largest bathrooms on the property.
Also named after one of the largest beaches in this surfing mecca, the suite is the mirror image of the Nyang Nyang suite, positioned on the opposite wing of the pavilion. Similarly, its big doors open to a vista of lush tropical greenery below and the blue horizon of the Indian ocean for as far as the eye can see.
Continuing the theme of famous beaches on the peninsula, this suite pays tribute to another popular surfing spot and lies directly behind the fifth suite, making it ideal for parents who would like to keep their children close by. It is also the only one of two suites which allows for a flexible configuration of a king or two generous single beds.
This suite is dedicated to our architects’ favourite beach, Suluban. Directly behind the fifth suite, this suite is a mirror image of the seventh suite, which also offers the option of a king or super single twin beds. It is a firm favourite for young children who can be kept at close quarters to their parents’ suite.
Noone who cooks, cooks alone. Rekindle your enthusiasm in the kitchen with Chef’s inspiring recipes and his calm demeanour to turn cooking classes for the family into an unforgettable, fun and effortless experience. Take pride in the dishes that are a pleasure to make and a pleasure to share.
Sunrise or sunset yoga by the pool with the villa’s yoga guru can be as challenging as you like it to be, through dynamic vinyasa flows and inversions or, as relaxing and restorative as a more meditational practice would bring. Either way, imagine all this with the soothing sound of the waves below.
For those keen to begin their day at a pace, choose from the menu of personal training sessions tailored to each individual’s needs: Muangthai kickboxing, circuit based training, dumbbell workouts or high intensity training. Work out on the pool decks above the ocean, on the beach or in the comfort of the airconditioned gym. And refresh with a nourishing dragonfruit juice or a hydrating coconut.
Just a stone’ throw from the villa, on this most southwesterly tip of the island’s Bukit peninsula, is the New Kuta Golf Club, the country’s first links championship course. Everywhere you look there are jaw-dropping scenes: the club is edged between white limestone cliffs and the blue horizon of the ocean, in a natural desert-like setting, amid native trees, shrubs and grass. With its commanding views over the beautiful Dreamland and Balangan beaches, the course will challenge the lowest of handicappers and delight the most novice among us, with plenty of variety to suit all standards in between.
From its long chain of history that takes you through its renowned temples to its mesmerising folk music and dance, the island never ceases to amaze. Rright by Villa 398 is the breathtaking New Kuta championship golf course, while those who prefer to catch that perfect wave will never be disappointed in the myriad of surfing beaches in this most southern tip of the Bukit peninsula. This is the endless summer.
