Situated on a small headland on the shores of the Whangamata Harbour in the Coromandel Peninsula, this large lodge styled home with 1.5 acres of tropical gardens, swimming pool, and tennis court makes for the perfect holiday getaway. Do as little or as much as you please, kayaking, fishing, tennis, coastal walks, golf or simply lounging by the pool. Ever changing views down the harbour and over forested hills provide a secluded paradise.
Comprising of 5 luxury bedrooms and separate upstairs master suite, the villa is perfect for couples, families and friends allowing for exclusive use of the property for up to 12 people. The villa can accomodate more if neccesary up to 7 or eight bedrooms, this is on a case by case basis and price on approval.The villa is conveniently located on the outskirts of Whangamata at the end of a quiet road and next to a reserve. Whangamata is the jewel of the Coromandel peninsular with its spectacular surf beach, shopping, restaurants and cafes you can enjoy the holiday atmosphere of this unique coastal town.
Being centrally located, Whangamata is the perfect base to explore the Coromandel Peninsula and beyond to the Bay of Plenty. We are pleased to offer a range of accommodation options at Villa 662. The luxury two bedroom apartment and upstairs master suite capable of accommodating up to 6 guests are perfect for couples, families and friends. Additional accommodation is available in the main lodge wing (up to 6 guests) or for larger groups the guest and lodge wings can be combined allowing for exclusive use of the property for up to 12 -14 people.
The retreat is tastefully furnished and reflects the coastal environment of the Coromandel; the tranquil surroundings of the Whangamata Harbour, bird song and gentle hum of the surf beach in the distance will lull you into a totally relaxed state.
Self Contained Guest Apartment
The self contained guest apartment, capable of accommodating up to four people, has a lounge with TV, Sky, DVD and stereo, fully equipped kitchenette, master bedroom/king bed and a second bedroom with twin king single beds that can be reconfigured as a king bed, bathroom with walk in shower and second separate toilet. The private patio with outdoor furniture and BBQ provides a peaceful retreat with relaxing views of the Whangamata Harbour.
Upstairs the separate master suite can be combined with the guest apartment providing accommodation for up to six people. With a king bed, lounge, TV, Sky, DVD and stereo, en-suite and two balconies with views over the pool and harbour it is perfect for couples that want privacy. Tea and coffee making facilities are provided.
Main Lodge and Facilities
Relax and enjoy this stunning property with friends and family. Luxurious accommodation comprising of the main lodge wing with three bedrooms, two bathrooms, lounge, library, dining room and gourmet kitchen with large outdoor areas is available for up to 6 people or combine the guest and lodge wings for exclusive use of the property for up to 12 people.
Guests can enjoy the pool area, tennis and petanque courts, kayaks and mountain bikes or simply relax on the deck with its stunning view across the harbour.
Villa 662 is the perfect place to relax and enjoy a range of activities including tennis, petanque, mountain biking, kayaking and swimming in the private pool area. A short drive takes you to pristine sandy beaches for surfing and boogie boarding, scenic walks in the forested hills can be enjoyed or visit the township of Whangamata for its café culture and shopping.
Offshore the waters are a delight for anglers and scuba divers. We can arrange an excursion aboard a charter vessel where you can experience the thrill of catching fish, try snorkelling, swim in the crystal clear water or perhaps enjoy a scenic cruise to a secluded beach for a picnic. There are many other water sport activities in Whangamata, including surfing the bar and beach break.
Whangamata is the perfect base to plan day trips around the Coromandel Peninsula, where you can visit Hot Water Beach, aptly named, as you can dig your own spa pool for a natural soak in the thermal waters. Then take a scenic walk to famous Cathedral Cove, one of the Coromandel Peninsula's best known beauty spots. Hahei, Whitianga, Thames and Waihi are all within an hour's drive. We can recommend excursions to suit your tastes or arrange a local guide to accompany you for the day.
Just a couple of hours drive from Auckland or a short 30 minute flight by helicopter, Whangamata in the Coromandel Peninsula offers an enticing combination of beachside resorts and relaxed rural living. With its dramatic coastline, long sandy beaches, secluded coves with unspoilt offshore islands, Whangamata is the ideal place to enjoy diving, fishing, surfing and swimming. Inland, the rugged bush-clad ranges of the Coromandel Forest Park has scenic bush walks, mountain bike tracks and old gold mining sites.
Villa 662 is located on the shores of the harbour, a short five minute drive from Whangamata. This holiday town is renowned for its relaxed atmosphere, cafes, shopping and spectacular surf beach. Whangamata is host to a number of festivals and events throughout the year, the most popular being the Beach Hop held in March which celebrates the 50s and 60s American Rock n Roll and Classic Car culture. Day trips can be enjoyed around the Coromandel Peninsula or to Tauranga, Hamilton and Rotorua as they are all within a two hour drive from Whangamata and Villa 662
The villa is well equipped with a selection of good quality Mountain bikes, kayaks, watersport and general sporting equipment. Tennis raquets are provided for the tennis court.

The owner also has a 55 Foot Luxury Catamaran with a proffesinal crew (including a chef) for hire. The rate for a Half Day is $2950 for 1 to 30 guests the boat sleeps a max of 6 guests
